Market Yourself Virally

The biggest trend in marketing lately is viral material....content that grows organically. When your content contains solid and helpful information, people who view it will want to share it with friends and colleagues. So, what are some ways to get yourself and your offerings out in front of interested eyes?


Video, blogs, forums. These are a few, but they are huge. With the birth of YouTube and Google Videos, visual content is a booming business. Sure, most videos on either of these sites are kids doing video logs and some generally goofy things, but think of the marketing potential. Not only marketing yourself by way of video, but advertising for customers. Shift your creative brain into high gear and see what you can reap from creating your own videos.


Blogs are another huge avenue worth exploring. Everyone who is anybody has a blog about something. Blogger.com and Wordpress.com are two of the biggest companies to offer free blogging to people. Take them up on it. Center on a subject and talk about it...share information with your readers. As your blog starts generating traffic (and it will!), people will come and respond to your comments. They will actually be creating content for you! How cool is that? Another plus is that the search engines loves blogs. The ever-changing content is something they eat up and are consistently spidering. In fact, once the SE's get a whiff of your blog, it will probably rank better and quicker than your actual site! Post a new entry every day, challenge your readers, push them to respond, ask them what they would do. People love to be asked their opinions. Make sure you link to your site, creating backlinks. Blogging is a must for anyone who has a website.


Forums are a way of meeting up with other people of similar interests. There are forums all over and about everything, just like blogs. Find some forums that interest you and that fit the niche of your website(s). Introduce yourself and share information. Make sure you create a signature there that will link back to your site(s) or that offer a product, whether your own or a affiliate product.
