It's Official: No Images Aligned w/ Google Adsense

For months now, the area of placing Adsense next to images has been a gray area, without Google making a stand either way. They've finally said that it's a no-no. To the left is an example of what they are alluding to.



Anything that would lead a visitor to think that the image is in some way associated with the ad next to it is considered misleading. The official statement from Google is at http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html


They give some examples and it looks to me that if each individual image is next to each individual ad, that's what they are sneering at. One large, generic image next to a large or medium rectangle? Not sure. If you have a question about a placement, it's probably best to contact them directly so that you can breathe easier, knowing you're alright.
